Overview
A selection of personal paintings exploring colour, composition and visual storytelling across acrylic and watercolour.
These works allow me to develop ideas in a more expressive and hands-on way, which often informs my wider design practice.
Parc Güell, Barcelona
Acrylic on canvas, 2020
Painted from a photograph taken during my time living in Barcelona, capturing the view from Parc Güell across the city.
Gaudí-Inspired Mosaic Study
Acrylic on canvas
A series of painted tiles inspired by Barcelona’s Eixample patterns and Gaudí’s mosaic work, exploring colour, repetition and surface design.
HP Playbook Artwork
Watercolour on paper (B2)
A large-scale watercolour painting created as the basis for the HP Brands & Agencies Playbook cover, later digitised and used to generate multiple variable cover designs.
Relevance
Painting strengthens my understanding of colour, composition and visual storytelling, and informs my approach to design across publishing, product and brand work.
In particular, this practice directly contributed to the development of the HP Playbook project, where original artwork formed the foundation of the final design.
