Collaborating with local Heptathlete Becky Owen, local textiles student, Grace Thomas and myself as Designer & Project Manager to create a new kit for Becky Owen. The process was a drew a pattern and used tracing paper to create a repeat pattern. I vectorised it in Adobe Illustrator and created a repeat pattern. I used Contrado to print it on Lycra and Grace used it for her fashion college course for a project.
I wanted to design a silk fabric to make a kimono for myself. I couldn't find a design I liked and so I designed something that was me. I drew a pattern and then recreated it in Adobe Illustrator and created a repeat pattern. I used Contrado to print it on silk satin fabric and I am still in the process of making the garment, I'm a little scared to cut into the fabric!
Pattern designs for fabrics around the house. "Exploded Teapot" (left) was printed on cotton and used for afternoon tea bunting and "Citrus" (right) was printed on towelling fabric and made into tea towels.
