1 Year Anniversary of Edward Enninful as Editor at British Vogue
Overview
Collaborated with HP and the Vogue team to create a series of personalised editions of British Vogue (December 2018), celebrating the first anniversary of Edward Enninful as Editor-in-Chief.
A limited run of 250 bespoke magazines was produced for celebrity guests and attendees of the anniversary event at the National Gallery, London.
The Challenge
To design a premium, personalised publication that maintains the integrity of the Vogue brand, while demonstrating the creative potential of variable data print within a high-end editorial context.
Approach
- Developed a fashion-led cover design using Adobe Photoshop, inspired by Vogue’s visual identity
- Incorporated multiple layers of variable data, including personalised attendee names and bespoke messaging
- Explored additional digital features such as watermarking and augmented reality integration
- Collaborated with print partner FE Burman to ensure seamless execution of variable print production
- Presented creative concepts demonstrating how personalisation could be applied within editorial publishing
Output
- Produced a series of personalised Vogue covers, each tailored to individual attendees (including Kate Moss and Liv Tyler)
- Created variations using multiple cover images and model selections, including exclusive editions for high-profile guests
- Delivered a premium printed product aligned with Vogue’s editorial standards and visual identity
Outcome
The project successfully showcased how personalisation and print innovation can enhance editorial experiences within luxury publishing. The final magazines were distributed at a high-profile industry event and received positive feedback from both clients and attendees.
Publishing Relevance
This project demonstrates strong capabilities in editorial design, brand consistency and personalised content, alongside experience working with leading publishing teams — directly relevant to roles within publishing, licensing and branded editorial content.
Additional Exploration
Alongside the Vogue project, I also created exploratory cover concepts for other fashion titles, including Hearst publications such as ELLE, to demonstrate how personalised publishing could be applied across different editorial brands.
We had the pleasure of attending the event and featured on Vogue’s website.
